The Cardiac Cath/Vasc Lab RN provides direct patient care to adult through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the Cardiac Cath/Vasc Lab environment. Communicates with the physicians continuously, and as needed, about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of the Cath/Vasc lab departmental equipment and inventory. Assesses and assures procedure room equipment is functioning and ready for use. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiac Cath/Vasc Lab patient are met. Monitors, positions and assists patients during procedure. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
Current Illinois Registered Professional Nursing license. Completion of cardiac arrhythmia recognition course. Two years critical care and/or Cath Lab experience preferred. Certified by the American Heart Association in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Thirty minuste call response required with housing available
