Description Role Purpose:Position manages departmental case management and socialwork operations. Responsibilities: Interview, hire, orient, train, evaluate, schedule, and initiate appropriate promotion and/or disciplinary actions toward personnel supervised. Consult with and keep director informed of activities, needs, and problems. Function in the role of a Unit, Admission and ED CM. Be familiar with role and function and be able to complete UR/UM and discharge planning. Work with the SW staff to ensure compliance in the Social Services role. Stay apprised of regulatory requirements to maintain compliance to meet Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services'(CMS) Conditions of Participation (CoP). Function in the role of the Clinical Denial Coordinator to work first level appeals and facilitate audits and complete all work queue's to maintain rapid flow of patient claims. Maintain adequate staffing levels by completing scheduling and approving time off and coverage. Perform staff coaching, counseling and evaluations in compliance with HR standards and work with HR leadership as needed. Function as a liaison between all departments in the hospital to foster strong business relationships. Visit each nursing unit as required. Participate in Committee's to promote compliance and integrate the CM/SW into the organization and represent needs as indicated. Assist with development and implementation and compliance with the budget and the budget approval process. Actively function in the role of educating and orientation new & existing staff for growth and development in their selected field. Cover the department in the absence of the Director Attend Medical Staff meeting to educate the Medical Team on compliance and implementation of regulatory as required and requested. Work in a collaborative role to Monitor bed availability and communicate with Director, Admission Case Manager, Ancillary Services, Unit Case Managers and all ancillary services to promote patient flow. Utilize capacity emergent messaging alert system. Demonstrate personal and professional growth by keeping informed of the latest developments and trends EPIC and in healthcare, through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-services and workshops. Provide orientation to new employees of the department as to own job function. Support and participate in the work of depart-based council. Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own practice, continuing education, competency and quality. Participate in committees, teams, councils and work groups. Performs otherrelated duties as assigned that correspond to the overall function of thisposition Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Social Work required if incumbent is not aRegistered Nurse. Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing as a RegisteredNurse or Licensed with the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers. Four years of experience as a registered nurse or socialworker with progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
