Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT PRN - Peds Days
Under general supervision, will provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels and in all areas that are served by the department.
Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
Records treatment information and patients treatment response in their computerized medical record
Acts as a resource person to medical staff
Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients
Provides age appropriate care to patients
Ensures that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained
Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records
Performs as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
Performs other duties as assigned
Education: Graduation from an approved therapist program for Respiratory Therapy
Experience: Two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred but not required
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT). Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care. BLS upon hire.
Special Requirement: If hired without current RRT registration, incumbents must receive the RRT registration within six months from the date of their graduation from the approved therapist program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment. Clinical decision making skills appropriate to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac system and to the age of the patient. Ability to interpret the appropriate information to identify patients needs. Ability to work under stress. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff. Some computer skills.
